Clark Ranch Affordable Housing Feasibility Study

Clark Ranch

This project was a feasibility study commissioned by the Park City Municipal Corporation to evaluate the potential of developing existing open space to provide affordable housing with minimal impacts on the land. We took a comprehensive, collaborative approach to analyze the myriad of factors that play into such a development, including the existing setting and infrastructure, the visual impact from key surrounding locations and the sweeping topography.

The results had to exist within a predetermined framework provided by the city, and we had to balance the wishes of multiple stakeholders while exploring the possibility of what affordable housing could be in a mountain town. In doing so we also undertook a significant investment to understand the carrying capacity of the site and determine if it could meet the needs of the city to provide as much affordable housing as possible while maintaining a certain local vernacular.

Our unique vision for providing over 200 affordable units on a 15-acre section of Clark Ranch (a 1,200-acre open space acquisition) is evidence of our well-integrated approach to working with key stakeholders at the municipal level to achieve a high-end, desirable result for the greater Park City community.
